Over the past 14 years, CFC's domestic wastewater treatment system has collected and thoroughly treated hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of wastewater that meets National environmental standards.

Characteristics of wastewater at cement plants in general as well as at CFC are mainly generated from domestic wastewater of employees and contractors. This aspect is reviewed and considered as one of the significant environmental aspects in the Company's ISO 14001 environmental management system since the early years of its operation.

To ensure labor hygiene and welfare facilities for employees, the Company has set up a system including 37 bathrooms and toilets on site at the plant and in the Quarry office.

Since 2007, the Company has invested in one domestic wastewater treatment station with a capacity of 100 m3/day adopting biotechnology. In 2018, the Company continued to invest in 03 on-site wastewater treatment modules applying MET technology, located in remote locations to thoroughly treat domestic wastewater.

The centralized domestic wastewater treatment station with a capacity of 100 m3/day is located in the southeast of the plant.

To connect the wastewater from the bathrooms, toilets, and kitchens to the above centralized and distributed treatment stations, the Company has also upgraded a synchronous collection system including 34 collection pits, water pumps and over 5500 m HDPE pipeline. The total investment cost of the whole collection and treatment system is over 2.8 billion VND.

To ensure the quality of wastewater, the Company also plans and arranges sufficient human resources, materials, chemicals, and budget to monitor, operate, maintenance the entire system. Wastewater quality parameters are also periodically monitored and monitored with 24 parameters with a frequency of 3 months/time. The operation of the centralized wastewater treatment system is also equipped with surveillance cameras and electricity meters that operate 24/7 and footage and operation data are transmitted directly to the Hai Phong Department of Natural Resources and Environment. Total operating cost is over 210 million VND per year.

Since the system always operates in optimal conditions, each year, more than 27,000 m3 of wastewater is treated according to National Technical Standard QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT and QCVN 14:2008/BTNMT before being discharged into the environment.

Wastewater quality always meets QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT and QCVN 14:2008/BTNMT before being discharged into the environment.

Administrative procedures such as applying for permits, extending discharge permits, and paying environmental protection fees for wastewater have also been seriously implemented by the Company since 2009.

The good treatment of domestic wastewater at Chinfon Cement Corporation mentioned above is a testament to the policies and strong commitment of the Company's Board of Directors and all employees to environmental protection.
