The Covid-19 situation in Viet Nam

According to information from the Ministry of Health, from the beginning of the epidemic to August 31, 2021, Vietnam had 462,096 cases of Covid-19 virus infection, ranking 59th out of 222 countries and territories, meanwhile, in proportion to the number of infected cases/ 1 million people, Viet Nam ranked 161 out of 222 countries and territories (4,700 cases of Covid-19 virus infection for every 1 million people).

 

Particularly for the 4th epidemic outbreak (from April 27, 2021 to present), Vietnam has 457,882 domestic infected cases, of which 236,086 patients have been declared cured.

The 5 provinces and cities with the highest number of cases are Ho Chi Minh City (221,254), Binh Duong (114,788), Dong Nai (23,766), Long An (22,044), Tien Giang (9,652).

About treatment, vaccination

During the day, 10,044 patients were declared cured, bringing the total number of cured cases to 238,860.

According to preliminary statistics, the number of seriously ill patients being treated is 6,295 cases, of which there are 4,006 cases of oxygen breathing through a mask, 1,259 cases of high-flow oxygen; 91 cases of non-invasive mechanical ventilation, 916 cases of invasive mechanical ventilation and 23 cases of ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation).

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Viet Nam as of August 30, 2021 is 11,064, accounting for 2.5% of the total number of cases and 0.4% higher than the death rate from COVID-19 in the world (2.1%).

Regarding vaccination, as of August 30, 2021, 244,853 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered. Thus, the total number of doses of vaccine injected was 19,966,724 doses, of which the 1st dose was 17,347,538 doses, and the 2nd dose was 2,619,186 doses.
