Resolution No. 64/200 isued on December 21, 2009, the General Assembly United Nations decided to designate October 13th every year to commemorate the International Day for Prevention and Mitigation of Disasters.
The 2022 edition takes place during the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework, which will conclude at a High-level Meeting of the General Assembly in May 2023 with a political declaration.
It is an opportunity to acknowledge the progress being made toward preventing and reducing disaster risk and losses in lives, livelihoods, economies, and basic infrastructure in line with the international agreement for reducing global disaster risk and losses, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, adopted in March 2015.
The main objective of Sendai action is to avoid creating new risks and to reduce existing risks. When that is not possible, people-centered early warning systems and preventive actions to take early action are the way to minimize loss of life and property as well as livelihoods.
Year 2022 main mesages
Vietnam is one of the countries facing many challenges of nature, because according to the assessment, Vietnam is one of the five countries that will be hardest hit by climate change and natural disasters. Climate change-related impacts are projected to increase, and it is in this context that concerted efforts to manage climate and disaster risks are among Viet Nam's action priorities.

Chinfon Cement Corporation has developed an annual occupational safety and health plan and disaster risk prevention is part of the plan. Relevant Departments such as MIS and HSE are assigned to monitor disaster risk information on weather app, government’s early warning and many other reliable sources, when there are signs of disaster, the Company will broadcast announcement and response plan, assign specific tasks to subordinate units to take measures to prevent risks and minimize damage to people and property.
