The imbalance of supply and demand is still a hot story of the cement industry. This problem is even more worrying when in recent months, the export channel has continuously declined, domestic consumption has almost stagnated, while production costs have increased too much, posing a great threat to the operation of many cement plants.
Limestone, the main source of raw materials for cement production, is mainly allocated in the Red River Delta and the North Central Coast of Viet Nam. Meanwhile, in the South, only three provinces of Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Kien Giang have limestone sources for cement production. No surprising, the large capacity cement factories are mainly located in the Red River Delta and the North Central region, most of the clinker grinding plants are located in the South of Vietnam.
